Automate logins to web sites

leave a comment »

There are some situations when we have to make several, repetitive clicks and type usernames and passwords to get to a destination on the web. For example, many financial sites ask the user ID on the one page then redirect to another page to type the password. This is a security measure to prevent password theft.

Web Replay can record all the prolonged web actions, all the clicks and typing, and run the whole sequence in 1 click.

Let’s see it in detail.

I’ll use the Bank of America as a relevant example, but you can follow these steps for any other similar login form.

Go to Bank of America and follow the steps below.

cerc cu 1

Click Record on Web Replay toolbar. A floating toolbar appears with a flashing light.

cerc cu 2

Click Select username on the floating toolbar. You’ll notice a hand cursor.

cerc cu 3

Click with the hand cursor the Enter Online ID field.

cerc cu 4

Type your username and click Sign In. Picture 1.

Now you are redirected to enter your password. Type your password and click Sign In.

Click Stop rec on the floating toolbar and save the macro. Picture 2
